Graha Shanti Puja Vidhi

**Purpose:** Performed when a horoscope shows severe planetary afflictions — Sade Sati, Mahadasha of a malefic, retrograde-transit doshas, or before major life events (marriage, house-warming).

**Procedure:**

1. Determine the specific graha(s) causing affliction from the birth chart (Astrologer\'s recommendation).
2. Fix the puja on an auspicious day (weekday of the graha; e.g. Saturday for Shani).
3. Set up a chowki with 9 heaps of grains representing the Navagrahas in their traditional layout (Sun-center, Moon-SE, Mars-S, Mercury-NE, Jupiter-N, Venus-E, Saturn-W, Rahu-SW, Ketu-NW).
4. Establish a kalash. Invoke Ganesha first.
5. Chant **Navagraha Stotram** and invoke each graha individually with its beeja mantra:
    - Sun: Om Hraam Hreem Hraum Sah Suryaya Namah
    - Moon: Om Shraam Shreem Shraum Sah Chandraya Namah
    - Mars: Om Kraam Kreem Kraum Sah Bhaumaya Namah
    - Mercury: Om Braam Breem Braum Sah Budhaya Namah
    - Jupiter: Om Graam Greem Graum Sah Guruve Namah
    - Venus: Om Draam Dreem Draum Sah Shukraya Namah
    - Saturn: Om Praam Preem Praum Sah Shanaischaraya Namah
    - Rahu: Om Bhraam Bhreem Bhraum Sah Rahave Namah
    - Ketu: Om Sraam Sreem Sraum Sah Ketave Namah
6. Offer the graha's associated color flower, food, and cloth.
7. Perform **Havan** (fire ceremony) with wood offerings for each graha (108 or 1008 samidha ahutis).
8. Perform **Purnahuti** (final offering) and Aarti.
9. Distribute the graha-shanti prasad.

**Post-puja remedies:** Wear the recommended gemstone, chant the beeja mantra daily, donate the graha's associated items.
