**Sthapana (Installation) — Day 1 (Chaturthi):** 1. Perform snana. Wear yellow or saffron clothes. 2. During **Madhyahna** (midday, roughly 11 AM to 1:30 PM local — verify from panchang), begin the puja. 3. Install a clay Ganesha murti on a red or yellow cloth-covered chowki facing east or north. 4. Invoke **Pranapratishtha** — the ritual that infuses divine presence into the murti. 5. Perform **Shodashopachara** worship (see "Daily Shodashopachara") — offer 21 durva grass blades, 21 modaks (or laddoos), red flowers (especially jaba/hibiscus). 6. Recite Ganesh Chalisa and Atharva-shirsha. 7. Perform aarti with "Jai Ganesh Deva". **Daily until Visarjan:** Morning + evening aarti, offer modaks, keep an oil lamp burning near the murti. **Visarjan Day (Anant Chaturdashi, Day 10):** Carry the murti in procession chanting "Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudchya Varshi Lavkar Ya". Immerse in a water body or eco-friendly pot.

Ganesh Chaturthi is the ten-day festival honoring Ganesha's birth. The home installation ritual was popularized in modern times by Lokmanya Tilak in 1893 as a means of building community.
