Your data travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, your birth charts are private to your account, and we never sell your data. As our Privacy Policy explains, we share it only with the service providers that run parts of GrahChaal for us — such as Razorpay, which takes your payment; our email service; our AI provider, which receives your question and the chart details it needs when you use an AI feature; and OpenStreetMap's place search, which looks up the birth place you type — with an astrologer you book, who can open the birth charts saved in your account; with the authorities when the law requires it; and with a new owner if GrahChaal is ever sold or merged. You can delete your account and data at any time.

Creating an account is free and takes about a minute: click "Get started" at the top of any page, enter your name, email address and a password, and you go straight to your dashboard. No credit card is needed. The free plan includes 2 birth charts, 2 compatibility checks and 2 PDF reports a month, 2 AI chat messages a day, the daily Moon-sign horoscope (Rashifal) and the Panchang.
Go to the Login page, click "Forgot password?" and enter the email address you registered with. We email you a password-reset link that is valid for 60 minutes; open it and choose a new password of at least 8 characters that contains both letters and numbers. If the email has not arrived within a few minutes, check your spam folder or contact support.
Yes. Open the chart under My Charts (or the person under My Profiles) and choose Edit to correct the date, time or place of birth; the chart and its readings are then calculated from the corrected details. If you want to compare two versions, for example two possible birth times, create a second chart instead of editing the first.

Vimshottari Dasha is a 120-year planetary period system unique to Vedic astrology. It divides your lifespan among 9 planets based on the Nakshatra (lunar mansion) of your Moon at birth. The system has 3 levels: Mahadasha (major period, 6-20 years), Antardasha (sub-period, 6 months-4 years), and Pratyantardasha (minor period, weeks-months). Each period activates specific life themes. Yogas are specific planetary combinations producing distinct results. KP is particularly effective for: yes/no questions, exact event timing, medical astrology, and career predictions. Our platform includes full KP calculations with sub-lord analysis.
Vedic (Jyotish) astrology uses the sidereal zodiac based on fixed constellation positions (ayanamsa), while Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac based on seasons. Vedic astrology includes Nakshatras (27 lunar mansions), Vimshottari Dasha (120-year planetary periods), and different house systems (equal, whole sign). Western astrology focuses on psychological patterns, aspects, and transits. Both are valid systems with unique predictive techniques.
Manglik (Mangal or Kuja) Dosha is Mars placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house of the birth chart, counted from the Lagna (ascendant). The same count from the Moon and from Venus is shown too and makes the dosha stronger, but does not create it on its own. Classical texts also list conditions that cancel it — for example Mars in its own sign (Aries, Scorpio) or exalted (Capricorn), Mars joined or aspected by Jupiter, or Mars with the Moon. Open your chart and choose "Manglik" to see whether Mars raises the dosha in your chart and whether any cancellation applies. In matching, a Manglik chart is usually paired with another Manglik chart.
Guna Milan compares the Moon signs and nakshatras of two people across eight factors (kootas) that add up to 36 points: Varna 1, Vashya 2, Tara 3, Yoni 4, Graha Maitri 5, Gana 6, Bhakoot 7 and Nadi 8. Traditionally 18 or more out of 36 is considered acceptable for marriage, and a higher score a better match. Two factors are read on their own as well: a zero in Nadi (Nadi dosha) or in Bhakoot is taken seriously even when the total is high, though the classical texts give exceptions for both. Sade Sati ("seven and a half") is the period when Saturn moves through the three signs around your natal Moon sign: the sign before it, the Moon sign itself and the sign after it. Saturn spends about two and a half years in each sign, so the whole period lasts about seven and a half years, and it comes round roughly once every 29 to 30 years. It is traditionally a time of pressure, responsibility and slow results rather than of misfortune as such; how it is felt depends on the rest of the chart. Your chart's Sade Sati page shows when your current or next Sade Sati begins and ends, phase by phase.

Palmistry

Your palm readings appear only in your own account — other members cannot see them. There is no sharing feature, so a reading cannot be sent or shown to anyone from the site; you can download it as a PDF and share that yourself. Our admin team can open readings to provide support.
Write to support@grahchaal.com or use the form on our Contact page — include your account email, what you were doing and, if you can, a screenshot. Email replies usually arrive within 24 hours on business days. For quick questions you can also call or WhatsApp the number on the Contact page, Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 7 pm IST.
A clear, well-lit photo of your open palm makes it easier for you to compare the reading page with your hand, but it does not change the reading: the photo is not read by a computer at the moment, and every line and mount is shown at a neutral reference value. For a reading of your own hand, look at your palm closely and enter what you see in the Hand Shape, Finger Shapes, Marriage Timing, Special Marks or Palm Consolidator tools.
An analysis fails only when something goes wrong on our side, for example when the uploaded file cannot be opened. Your photo is not read by a computer at the moment, so its lighting or focus is not the cause. A failed analysis gives its reading back: it does not count against your monthly allowance. Upload the photo again; if it keeps failing, write to support@grahchaal.com.
Analyses are processed in a queue, so yours usually starts within a minute or two of the upload and is ready a few minutes later. The page you land on after uploading checks progress by itself and opens your reading when it is ready; you can also leave it and find the reading later in your palmistry history. If it is still not ready after 30 minutes, write to support@grahchaal.com with the time of your upload.
Yes. Open the reading, or your palmistry history, and click Delete. The reading, its analysis, its palm photo and its PDF are deleted at once and cannot be recovered, so download the PDF first if you want to keep it. Readings are deleted one at a time; deleting your account deletes all of them together.
Your palm photo is kept for as long as its reading exists — there is no automatic expiry. When you delete a reading, its photo is deleted from our server at the same time. Deleting your account deletes all your palm readings, and their photos and PDFs are deleted from our server with them.
Your palm photo travels to our server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and is saved under a random file name that is not published anywhere. When AI image analysis is in use, the photo is also sent to our AI provider to read the lines. Your readings appear only in your own account; our admin team can open them to provide support. We never sell your photos or readings, and you can delete a reading — with its photo — at any time.
Once you have used all the palm readings your plan includes this month, a new upload is not accepted and the Palmistry page tells you so. You can wait until the count starts again on the 1st of next month, or move to a higher plan: Basic includes 5 readings a month, Premium 20, and Pro has no limit. Extra readings cannot be bought separately.
Yes. Choose a higher plan from Subscription in your account (or the Pricing page) and pay for it: it starts at once, with its higher palmistry limit, and the unused value of your current plan is added to the new one as extra days. A lower plan you buy starts only when the time you have already paid for runs out. Unused palm readings are not carried over: each month's allowance starts again on the 1st.
An upload is refused only when the file is not a JPEG, PNG or WebP image, is larger than 10 MB, is smaller than 500 × 500 or larger than 5000 × 5000 pixels, or cannot be opened — the page says which. Save the photo again in one of those formats and sizes and upload it. If it is still refused, write to support@grahchaal.com.

At the moment your photo is not read by AI: no image-analysis service is switched on. A reading made from an uploaded photo describes the 10 palm lines and 9 mounts with their classical meanings, each at a neutral reference value of 5 out of 10 — the same for every hand — and keeps your photo with it so you can compare. Readings of your own hand come from the tools where you enter the features you see: Hand Shape, Active vs Passive, Finger Shapes, Thumb Phalanges, Marriage Timing, Special Marks and the Palm Consolidator.

Any clear photo of your open palm as a JPEG, PNG or WebP file of up to 10 MB, at least 500 × 500 and at most 5000 × 5000 pixels. Traditional palmistry reads the dominant hand (the one you write with) for how you live and act, and the other hand for your inborn nature and potential. You can upload either, but a reading made from a photo is currently the same reference reading for both hands, because the photo is not read by a computer. A reading made from a photo currently describes each of these with its classical meaning at a neutral reference value — the lines are not traced from your photo.
Palm mounts are the fleshy, rounded areas on your hand located at the base of each finger and along the edges. Each mount is associated with different qualities: Mount of Jupiter (leadership, confidence, ambition), Mount of Saturn (responsibility, discipline, wisdom), Mount of Apollo (creativity, self-expression, success), Mount of Mercury (communication, intellect, business acumen), Mount of Venus (love, passion, sensuality), Mount of Luna (imagination, intuition, creativity), Mount of Mars (courage, energy, assertiveness). The prominence, firmness, and development of each mount provide insights into your personality strengths.
The head line runs horizontally across your palm and reveals: Your intellectual capacity, thinking style, and mental abilities; Decision-making approach and logical thinking; Creativity and imagination; Communication style and expressiveness; Concentration and focus ability. A straight head line suggests practical, logical thinking; A curved head line indicates intuitive, creative thinking; A long line shows broad intellectual interests; A short line might indicate focused, specialized thinking; A sloping line toward the mount of Luna reveals strong imagination and intuition. The depth and clarity of the line relate to mental clarity and focus. This line essentially maps your mind and how you process information.

The Mount of Venus, located at the base of your thumb, is one of the largest and most important mounts. It represents: Love, passion, and sensuality; Vitality and life force; Physical energy and sexual expression; Warmth, affection, and capacity for love; Generosity and sociability; Connection to beauty and pleasure. A prominent, firm Venus mount indicates strong vitality, warmth, and passionate nature; A fleshy mount shows capacity for deep love and emotional connection; A hard, tense mount might indicate difficulty expressing emotions; A weak or flat mount could suggest low energy or emotional detachment. The Mount of Venus essentially shows your life force and capacity to experience love and pleasure.
The Mount of Jupiter, located at the base of your index finger, represents your leadership qualities, confidence, and ambition. A prominent mount of Jupiter indicates: Natural leadership abilities and confidence; Ambition and desire for success; Optimism and positive outlook; Spiritual or philosophical inclination; Self-esteem and sense of self-worth. A well-developed mount suggests you're comfortable taking charge and inspiring others; An overly prominent mount might indicate arrogance or excessive pride; A flat or underdeveloped mount could suggest lack of confidence or ambition. If you have a strong Jupiter mount, you're likely to excel in leadership roles, public speaking, or positions of authority.
In palmistry, a missing or very faint line does NOT indicate something bad - it simply means that quality is less emphasized in your personality or life: A faint or missing life line doesn't mean short life - it might indicate you're more mentally/emotionally focused than physically oriented; No head line might suggest you lead with intuition rather than intellect; Faint heart line might indicate you're more emotionally reserved or independent; Absent fate line often means you prefer creating your own path and aren't bound by conventional destiny. Many highly successful and happy people have faint or missing lines. Instead, focus on which lines are PROMINENT - those show your natural strengths. Your palmistry reading is about understanding your unique profile, not about having all standard features.
The fate line (also called destiny line) runs vertically from the wrist toward the middle finger and represents: Your life direction and career path; Destiny and life purpose; Career success and professional development; The degree of control you have over your life direction. A strong, clear fate line suggests clear life direction and strong career focus; A weak or absent fate line might indicate flexibility in life direction; Multiple fate lines can indicate several career paths or life changes; A fate line starting from the wrist suggests life direction established early; One starting from the middle of the palm suggests direction found later in life. This line shows how much your life feels guided by external circumstances versus personal choice.
The heart line runs horizontally across the upper part of your palm and reveals: Your emotional nature and capacity for love; Romantic relationships and partnership style; Emotional stability and sensitivity; Ability to empathize and connect with others; Romantic ideals and expectations in relationships. A long, deep heart line suggests strong emotional capacity and loyalty; A wavy line might indicate numerous romantic interests; A straight line suggests more pragmatic approach to relationships; A sloping line indicates emotional depth and empathy; Multiple breaks might suggest emotional challenges or significant relationship changes. The life line is one of the most important palm lines, running from between your thumb and index finger down toward your wrist. It represents: Your overall vitality, health, and life force; Major life events and transitions; Physical energy and stamina; Life path and directions; Significant changes or challenges. A long, deep, clear life line suggests good health and vital energy; Breaks or multiple segments might indicate major life transitions; The life line's proximity to the thumb shows your connection to life and independence. Important note: Contrary to popular belief, a short life line does NOT predict a short lifespan - it more accurately reflects life energy and how you engage with life experiences.
Palmistry holds that minor lines and the mounts can change over the years while the major lines stay largely the same. A new reading from a new photo currently shows the same reference values as before, because the photo is not read by a computer. To follow changes in your hand, compare your photos yourself, or describe your hand again in the tools where you enter its features.
In a palm reading each line has a strength score and each mount a prominence score, from 1 to 10, meant to show how marked it is. Your photo is not read by a computer at the moment, so every line and mount is given the neutral reference value of 5, and the score says nothing about your particular hand.

To buy with confidence, start on our free forever plan to explore the platform, and cancel anytime to stop future renewals. Genuine duplicate charges, or a paid service not delivered due to a technical error, will be corrected — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account from the Settings page, it happens immediately: your birth charts and saved profiles, your palm readings with their photos, your other readings (face, tarot, dream, horary, Vastu and Feng Shui), your PDF reports and the pictures you uploaded are deleted, your name and email address are anonymised and you can no longer sign in. Tax invoices and payment records are kept, as Indian tax law requires; other records, such as past consultations and wallet history, stay with the anonymised account. For any other request about your data, write to us through the Contact page.
Your birth charts are private to your account: other members cannot see a chart unless you turn on its share link, and your data is never sold. When you book a consultation, the astrologer you book can open the birth charts saved in your account, to prepare for and follow up on your session. You can delete a chart at any time, and deleting your account erases all of your charts.
Yes. On your Settings page you can download all your data — profile, birth charts, consultations, reports and wallet transactions — as a JSON file, or delete your account. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone: your charts and profiles, your palm readings with their photos, your other readings, your PDF reports and the pictures you uploaded are deleted, and your name and email address are anonymised. Tax invoices and payment records are kept, as Indian tax law requires; other records, such as past consultations and wallet history, stay with the anonymised account.

Yes. The Compatibility Report (a PDF) matches two birth charts by the method you choose: Vedic Ashtakoot (the 36-point Guna Milan, with the Manglik, Bhakoot and Nadi doshas), Vedic Extended (which adds the Navamsha, dasha periods, nakshatra nature, Lagna and 7th house), the KP System, Western synastry, or all of them together. Enter both partners' birth details; if a birth time is not known, the parts that need it are left out and the report says so. The Ashtakoot score is also free on our compatibility calculator.
Not yet — consultations with astrologers are coming soon. We are onboarding verified astrologers; once the first one is approved, you will be able to book a live video, voice or chat session here, at the astrologer's hourly rate for the length of the slot, paid when you book. Meanwhile, the built-in AI astrology assistant answers questions about your saved chart.

For accurate predictions, provide: Date of birth (day/month/year), Time of birth (HH:MM AM/PM in local time), Place of birth (city/state/country). We automatically account for timezone and DST. For best results, get birth time from: birth certificate, hospital records, or parent's memory (to the nearest minute if possible). For unknown birth time, we can generate charts using 12:00 PM (noon) or Chandra Lagna (Moon sign) with limited accuracy.

Yes. When you create a chart, tick "Time unknown" and it is drawn for 12:00 noon on your birth date. The ascendant (lagna), the houses and the dasha balance depend on the exact birth time, so those parts are not reliable, and the Moon may be a few degrees off, which can change its nakshatra — read such a chart from your Moon sign (Chandra lagna). Add the birth time whenever you find it and the chart is recalculated. Palmistry and numerology do not need a birth time.
Yes, all generated reports can be downloaded as PDF files. You can access your past reports anytime from your dashboard and download them for offline reference.
